Mooresville Revitalization Group, Inc. will host the 2nd annual Roots & Rhythm Fest on Saturday, September 13th from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM in downtown Mooresville on Main Street. This event will feature a classic car show, a motorcycle show, scenic fun-ride, and bands performing on two Main Street stages throughout the day. Food will be available from several local restaurants and vendors.  Local artists will participate,  most downtown retail merchants and antique stores will be open for shopping. Vendor space is available for the event. The Indiana Blood Center’s Bloodmobile will be at the event from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. General admission to the event is free.

Participant Registration begins at 10:00 AM. for cars, trucks, and motorcycles at the corner of Main and Indiana. Cars are first asked to enter for parking from the intersection of Clay Street and East Main. Motorcycles will meet on West Main for a fun ride organized by Morgan County ABATE members and then return to the event for those entered in judging.  The first 50 motorcycles and first 75 cars will receive dash plaques.  Awards will be announced at 5:00 PM.  Trophies will be awarded to cars including Best of Show, Best Custom, Best Original, Best Truck, Best Paint, Best Street Rod, and for motorcycles including Best of Show, Best Antique, Best American, Best Foreign, Best Custom, and Best Paint

The Rhythm: Alternating Music stages begin at Noon.

Stage One (near Zydecos):  Kicking things off, Chris Wolf, local acoustic, folk guitarist and songwriter brings his classic humor at Noon.  Dan Holmes Band from Indianapolis,  a rocking blues, jazz, & jam band and regular performer at Zydecos will bring a little ‘Nawlins music at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM

Stage Two ( next to Buffalo Gal Antiques):  Eric Radoux, a young Bloomington native returns to Roots & Rhythm Fest with his one man band show at 1:00 PM.  Rounding out a great afternoon of music, are the fellows of Busman’s Holiday. These original street buskers, turned award winning songwriters are about to embark on their next national tour, but first they’ll play Main Street at 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM

The Roots: Discover a variety of  local history. Among some of the vendors and displays, walking tour and downtown history items will be presented.  Or if you’re curious about John Dillinger and the upcoming feature film “Public Enemies” visit the life size cut-out and take your own photo. Reproduction and licensed items will be available for purchase.

Admission is free for the public.  Door prizes will be awarded hourly.  Enjoy games, great food, and music.  Proceeds from the event will help fund the 20th Annual Victorian Christmas Celebration to be held December 6th, 2008.
